Vidushi Naina Shastri, Artistic Director of Ushanjali School of Dance will be offering classes in the South Indian Classical Dance form, Bharatanatyam at MUCID. She has been trained in the Mysore Style of Bharatanatyam. She has participated and performed at various prestigious events and dance festivals in India and the Bay Area.
She has been an Artist-in-residence at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, Oakland.
Currently, she is a Lead Artist and RAW resident artist at SAFEhouse Arts, San Francisco. She is also the Director and Founder of Namaha Foundation for the Arts and Kalasangha non profit art organizations in the East Bay. Naina was recently appointed as Member of the Arts Advisory Committee for the City of San Ramon.
